In 2015 we quit our lives in the city to buy bare land in the country and build a timber frame home from scratch with our bare hands, debt-free, with no prior experience. It’s been a wild ride of ups, downs, highs, lows, rain and rainbows, but we haven’t lost sight of our goals and have gotten further in three years than we thought we’d get in ten. Join us as we build our house, develop our rural property, practice traditional skills such as gardening and food preservation and go to even greater heights (literally) of exploring the world through aviation as a new private pilot!

What’s up with the shirt?

    Jayme Harl - November 19, 2019

You’ve obviously not met “Skid Mark”

George Kozi - November 19, 2019

You glued that piece of blue tape right into the joint, haven’t you… (about 6 minutes in) 😀

Shipster40 - November 19, 2019

This is so painful to watch. I’ve been impressed with most of their content up to this point. He has always looked to see how the professionals do what they need to do. Being a 2nd generation custom cabinet builder I can honestly say I HAVE NEVER SEEN cabinets built with pocket screws. Somebody has to be paying them money to do it that way.

    Ed Blough - November 19, 2019

Shipster40 I suspect Jesse is more familiar with knockdown cabinets so he is going with pocket holes.

    Bad Robot - November 19, 2019

Either domino or biscuits & clamped or even just screws from the outside plus a back to stiffen the box. Bothe quicker and simpler, but heyho…

    Jess Julian - November 19, 2019

Where have you been for the past few years. Screws have been used for a while now.

James Mills - November 19, 2019

You don’t have to use screws to connect the face frame just glue and clamp.

    James Mills - November 19, 2019

You should also have the face frame glued to the cabinet before adding the slides.

Jess Julian - November 19, 2019

The strength of the cabinet’s/drawer is not a problem. You are over thinking it. Unless you’re putting Gold in them.

Charles Hanson - November 19, 2019

Looks like you’re ready to store all your gold bars in those drawers. sheesh

the Lying Scotsman - November 19, 2019

Blindly cutting, your wrong there,I’ve never seen anyone with so many cutting lists lol.

haywardsteve - November 19, 2019

another BUGGERBOO less video whats going on he has been in most of your videos since you started the house has he moved out because he feels left out of your love

    TheGranti7a - November 19, 2019

haywardsteve Probably watching the “new kitty”.

kendall keith - November 19, 2019

I do believe Jesse must own stock in screws shure does like them.

Stan .Rarick - November 19, 2019

Why do I feel that I’m watching the same movie for the third time?

Charlie Bryson - November 19, 2019

Is that the only shirt you own

Roger Hansen - November 19, 2019

It is time to throw away that nasty stained shirt.
You have a great site don’t look like a homeless person with a stained shirt.

Spartacus Primus - November 19, 2019

I just can’t help myself but I keep coming back to see if you heed any of the advice of your viewers. Nope! Its kinda sad… how is the outside OSB holding up? At least put house wrap on the structure.

    John Doe - November 19, 2019

Remember, he shot these about a month ago.

K Del - November 19, 2019

a little out with a 6″ square is a few inches when you get to the edge, use a framing square!!

jeff robison - November 19, 2019

wish i was selling you screws, i have never used that many in my projects. I also dont expect glue to stick to finished wood

Brendan Fisher - November 19, 2019

250 years later.. the kitchen is complete.. now to install it..

topper009 - November 19, 2019

Yikes anyone attempting to build cabinets should never watch this.

Ed Graves - November 20, 2019

I’m not sure but it looks like he is using wood glue on lacquered wood. From what little I know wood glue does not work so well on finished wood.

    Bill Connor - November 20, 2019

You are correct I had the same thought. Dadoing should have come after finishing. Alternatively the dado should have been masked.

Scott2k44 - November 20, 2019

Dont build your cabinets until you watch this video to see how not to do it.

    Jedidiah - November 21, 2019

Its not a how to video, can’t you read! or hear!
