Double Dresser building process by Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers

This video shows the making of a Custom Chest of Drawers or Double Dresser. This dresser is handmade of premium mahogany. Hand cut dovetail joinery is used throughout this piece. The drawers and drawer bottoms are made of solid quarter-sawn poplar. All surfaces are hand planed smooth before finishing.
At Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers we make fine furniture to order. We combine the finest hardwoods available today with a meticulous attention to overall details and quality to ensure each one of the pieces we make will become a valued family heirloom. Visit our website for more information.

Such beautiful wide Mahogany! I’m a cabinetmaker (who does the occasional piece of furniture), and I sure love seeing you build such fine pieces. It gives me hope that our craft will return to one where quality and craftsmanship are once again valued above fast lived fads and uber-economy.

This kind of work is what should be taught in high school and in trade schools. Brilliant work!

I agree , this type of woodworking should be taught . When i was doing woodwork at school i was taught by using hand tools only not using any type of power tools.
