How to Build a Dining Table with Storage // Woodworking // DIY Modern Furniture

My kids homework supplies were always sitting on my kitchen table and it was too messy… So I decided to build a new kitchen table that will have built in storage to get the mess out of the way! I also wanted to experiment with some new techniques and ideas. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome and learned a ton along the way!

Thanks so much! I love the black. I know a lot of ppl prefer the natural wood. But I just think it looks so modern and clean

I usually hate staining wood ,bc the „vintage look“ or darkening the wood to make it look more expensive, which many people want to achieve, just looks cheap and tacky and disgusting . However your super black stain is just absolutely stunning and I love how it accentuates the pattern of the ash tree wood and the combo with the (I think the color is called forest) Eames plastic chairs is just marvelous !

    3x3Custom - Tamar - July 23, 2019

Scott Martin totally agree about staining. I usually hate the look and prefer the natural wood. But this black makes it look so sleek and modern

Love the table, video was great, but my favorite part is always at the end when you do your review (look back) of the project. I like the way that you point out any problems or second thoughts, and talk about any comments that caught your attention. Thanks again and good luck on the next project.

    3x3Custom - Tamar - July 19, 2019

Thanks so much! So happy you appreciate that part!

Jennie and Davis - July 19, 2019

Wow! What an ambitious project! The table turned out great! I’m working on a hexagon frame this weekend and seeing how you made splines on your hexagon was very helpful. Cheers!
